Touching Earth Meditation & Dharma Talk
Monday, July 14th, 7:00 - 8:30pm
with Andrew Bishop
An Introduction to Buddhist View, Meditation, and Conduct
When the Buddha Shakyamuni fully awakened under the Bodhi Tree 2600 years ago, he touched the ground and cited Earth as his witness. He described the truth or Dharma he had discovered as 'nectar-like,' calling it “profound, peaceful, free from complexity, luminous, and uncompounded.”
This 90-minute talk and guided meditation will explore the concepts and interplay between Buddhist view, meditation, and conduct, with specific emphasis on the potential of timeless wisdom to greatly benefit modern approaches to life, love, and justice. Participants can expect to listen, reflect, meditate, and discuss the material presented and explored. There will be self-service tea and movement breaks included.
*This event operates by fee with a commitment to accessibility. Anyone wishing to attend may opt to join on sliding scale for any amount possible. Contact jen@salatreeyoga.com to reserve your space on sliding scale.
